Bill Miller, the visionary behind Born In Black™, had always felt a connection to Africa, but nothing could have prepared him for the experience that awaited him at Elmina Slave Castle, Ghana.
Stepping through its ancient stone gates, the air was thick with memories, the echoes of those who came before. The tour guide welcomed him—not just as a visitor, but as if he had always been meant to return.
"Follow me," the guide said, and with those words, the journey truly began.
The Spirit of Elmina
Inside, the castle walls held stories of resilience, pain, and survival. The dungeons, once packed with thousands of captive souls, told of a past that could never be forgotten. It was more than history—it was a message.
At that moment, Bill felt something stir deep within him. A connection. A calling. It was as if the voices of the past had chosen him to carry their message forward. The weight of the past became the spark of a new movement.

The Music That Was Meant to Be
That same night, the journey led Bill and his African recording artists to a studio in Ghana. With the energy of Elmina still flowing through him, he asked Presdoe, the beat maker, to play a track.
"Before we record," he said, "I need you and Ganaman (our vocalist) to write down everything I’m about to say."
As the beat played, words poured through him like a divine message—a song that was not just written, but felt, lived, and delivered by the spirits of the past.
